Ophthalmoplegia

Definition

The term Ophthalmoplegia denotes paralysis of extraocular muscles that control the movements of the eyes (external opthalmoplegia). Sometimes, paralysis of intraoclular muscles is referred to as internal ophthalmplegia.

Typical symptoms are double vision, ptosis and mydriasis.
